The Philadelphia Eagles are beginning to utilize Jordan Howard more often in the offense. After Sunday's game against the New York Jets, Doug Pederson stated that Howard will see his workload increased as the season progresses.

As a result, Howard is set to break out with the Eagles this season. Many people believed that rookie Miles Sanders was going to take over the backfield duties, but that doesn't seem to be the case at all.

Over the first three weeks of the season, Howard and Sanders basically split the carries in the offense. As a matter of fact, Sanders was given 34 carries to Howard's 25 in the first three weeks.

Despite having nine fewer carries than Sanders, Howard only had seven fewer yards than the rookie out of Penn State. Thus, prompting the Eagles to begin using Howard as their featured back in the past two games.

Against the Green Bay Packers in Week 4, the former Chicago Bears running back rushed for 87 yards on 15 attempts and found the end zone twice. Additionally, Howard added another three receptions for 28 yards and a touchdown as a receiver.

On the other hand, Sanders was also effective in Week 4, garnering 72 yards on just 11 carries versus the Packers. The workload began to shift in Howard's favor even more in Week 6.

On Sunday against the New York Jets, Howard carried it 13 times for 62 yards and another touchdown. Comparatively, Sanders had just nine rushing attempts for a mere 15 yards.

Over the past few weeks, there has been a changing of the guard in Philadelphia at running back. Howard has assumed the starting role and he continues to flourish in it. Due to this, now is the time to buy-low on the Eagles running back if you're involved in fantasy football.

Everyone tends to forget that Howard began his career with two straight 1,000-yard seasons in Chicago. The only year he didn't rush for over 1,000 yards came in 2018; when his role was somewhat limited in Matt Nagy's offense.

When the Eagles traded for Howard this offseason, they knew they were getting a back who is capable of improving their offense. Now, we're beginning to see how Pederson wants to use him in the running game; which involves him becoming a larger part of the offense.

With Philadelphia's offense being filled with playmakers, Howard is on track to post better numbers moving forward. Alongside Carson Wentz and company, Howard is more than capable of being one of the best running backs in the NFL once again.
