Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones had a big game against the Washington Redskins and they need him to do the same against the Chicago Bears.

Heading into their game against the Packers, the Redskins made it very clear they were going to try and take away Jones and make Aaron Rodgers beat them. This proved to be key in Green Bay's efforts of winning the game.

“It is [crazy]. It really is,” linebacker Jon Bostic said, via the Washington Post. “Even just saying that. You always preach going in stopping the run, making a team one-dimensional. But it’s like, making a team one-dimensional and putting the ball in the best player’s hands is like, do you really want to do that? But that’s what it’s going to take to beat them. It’s going to take all 11 guys out there … playing within the defense, playing within the rules.”

Even with the Redskins focusing on taking him away, Jones still rushed 16 times for 134 yards and a touchdown. He also caught six passes for 58 yards. If the Packers want to pick up a win again on Sunday against the Bears, it means that Jones is going to have to be established and made into a threat that warrants being taken away by the defense.

The first time the Bears played the Packers this season, Jones only rushed 13 times for 39 yards and that led to the offense really struggling. Rodgers finished the game throwing for 203 yards and a touchdown, too. When Green Bay has struggled to run the ball, it has allowed teams to focus on the future Hall of Fame quarterback.

The Bears are good at stopping the run as they have allowed only 96.3 yards per game (7th), but the Packers can't let that change their game-plan heading into the game.

Everyone still seems to focus on Rodgers being the star of the offense, and he is, but it's time the team leans more on the running game. This season, Jones has rushed for over 180 yards total in three games this season and the Packers are 3-0 in those particular games.

Rodgers said after the Packers defeated the Redskins that the team would continue to get the ball to the hot hand in the offense.

“We’ve just got to keep getting the ball to our playmakers and figure out what’s going to work that week, and today was getting the ball to Aaron (Jones) in the run game,” quarterback Aaron Rodgers said afterward via Packers Wire.

The Packers need to make sure that the hot hand is Jones when they take on the Bears. His continued success will lead them to victory.
