The Tennessee Titans look like they have found their quarterback for the next few years in Ryan Tannehill. However, it also wouldn't be a bad idea for the team to take a strong look at Utah State quarterback Jordan Love.

Love went through a coaching change this season and the new staff didn't utilize him the best way possible. Last year is when Love went on everyone's radar throwing for 3.567 yards, 32 touchdowns, and six interceptions. This season, the interceptions were an issue throwing the ball to opponents 16 times, but that is something that can be worked on and fixed.

Love looks like a prototypical NFL quarterback. Joe Marino of The Draft Network gave the following breakdown of his game.

“Checks the boxes in terms of size and body composition. Good mobility and athleticism; capable of extending plays with his feet, hitting throws on the move and taking off with the ball in his hands. Sound mechanically. Over the top release that is efficient. Does well to follow through and get his legs involved on throws. Love how he hangs in the pocket and keeps his eyes down the field. Willing to test leverage advantages in man coverage and slot throws between zones. Aware of his outlets. Has the arm talent to make any throw. Has some impressive moments of ball placement to all levels.”

One of the biggest knocks on Love is his field awareness and reading opposing defenses. At times he throws the ball up and gets lucky, but that isn't something that will translate in the NFL (ask Jameis Winston).

Love needs to work on his decision making, and it would probably be good for him to sit and learn the NFL game from the bench for a year or two.

It's not a guarantee that Tannehill is going to be signed long term with the Titans, but that seems to be where the signs are pointing. Even if Love never did start for the Titans, he could turn into a reliable backup if Tannehill did go down with an injury.

It's hard to imagine the team would want to spend a second-round pick on a player who they don't groom to be a starter, but it's always good to have a backup plan behind Tannehill.

If the Titans decide they don't want to draft Love, they do need to use a draft pick later in the draft on a quarterback.
