William Knight and Alonzo Menifield put on a very exciting fight at UFC Vegas 44. Knight ended up walking out the victor as the judges gave him the nod.

The UFC fight had been a long time coming as the two had been scheduled to fight several times. They finally met at UFC Vegas 44 where William Knight found himself facing the expected and unexpected all at the same time.

“There were no surprises,” Knight said at the UFC Vegas 44 post-fight press conference via MMAJunkie. “It was as expected, but not expected. I was looking for a knockout, but I guess not everything can go your way. I thought I was going to finish him in the end of Round 1. I caught him again at the end of Round 2. Then the same thing with Round 3, when it was the last minute. I was like, ‘I should’ve done this in the beginning.’

“My coach was telling me finish the fight. … I felt I was landing and doing more,” the UFC light heavyweight continued. “Fighting is about being aggressive and moving forward, not just standing there, controlling the center of the cage, looking cute. I was throwing jabs, throwing hooks, I was kicking, spinning back kicks. I was doing submission attempts, takedowns – not just pressing against the cage and throwing that lucky punch. I was actually throwing punches.”

The UFC light heavyweights were expecting to knock each other out but that fight was still very entertaining. William Knight was not afraid to throw punches with Alonzo Menifield and the two delivered a fun UFC fight.
