Willie Cauley-Stein could have chosen to play for a different team and get a bigger deal, but he chose to sign with the Golden State Warriors for slightly above the minimum ($1.7 million).

According to Cauley-Stein, his decision is not based on money, adding that he wanted to go to a team wherein he would feel secure. And he believes that the Warriors are the best in the league in making players feel that way.

Cauley-Stein, the sixth overall pick in 2015 by the Sacramento Kings, was picked up by the Warriors in the free agency market. Last season, he played and started 81 games for the Kings. He averaged 11.9 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.2 steals in 27.3 minutes.

Though some believe that the Warriors' dynasty has come to an end, Cauley-Stein's optimism shows otherwise. In the end, the Dubs still have two-time MVP Stephen Curry, all-around guy Draymond Green, and cold-blooded shooter Klay Thompson. Not to mention Steve Kerr — who, in just five years as a head coach — has already three championship rings to his name.

Cauley-Stein will subsequently replace former Warriors big men Jordan Bell and DeMarcus Cousins. The 25-year-old center will offer his top-notch athleticism which will trickle on over to his offense and defense.
