Dallas Mavericks center Willie Cauley-Stein will be away from the team for personal reasons until next week, according to Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle, per Dwain Price.

The Mavs acquired Cauley-Stein from the Golden State Warriors after losing Dwight Powell to a season-ending Achilles injury. Willie has appeared in nine games with the Mavs. He's averaging 5.6 points and 4.6 rebounds in 12.3 minutes per contest while shooting 67.6 percent from the field.

Barring a late season collapse, the Mavs appear on their way to making the playoffs for the first time since 2016. Basketball fans are anxious to see rising superstar Luka Doncic on the NBA’s biggest stage.

The Mavs entered Wednesday with a record of 35-23. They are sitting in the seventh spot in the Western Conference standings.

Willie Cauley-Stein has career NBA averages of 9.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists with the Sacramento Kings, Warriors and Mavs.
