The Xavier Musketeers are still trying to deal with life after Chris Mack. Travis Steele has done an admirable job so far, hoping the 2019-20 college basketball season results in him finding a steady footing in the Big East Conference landscape.

All of that is talk and conjecture. There's literally no more reason to wonder “what it would be like” if Mack were still overseeing the program. He's gone to oversee the Louisville Cardinals after all.

As for Steele, ahead of the season, he's apparently dealing with first-world problems.

“Now all of a sudden we have this depth,” Steele said. “We’re going to have to figure out how to manage egos. That will be the challenge with our group, managing the personalities and getting these guys all together.”

Hooray depth! That's what I always say at least.

Given Steele's comments, it will be interesting to monitor how he uses his rotation. Expect a lot of experimentation early in the 2019-20 college basketball season for the Xavier Musketeers.
