After scoring 46 points on Friday against the Charlotte Hornets, Bradley Beal is now tied with Hall of Famer Earl Monroe for fifth in Washington Wizards/Bullets franchise history for the most 40-point games.

Friday was the 10th time in his career Beal scored at least 40 points.

Bradley Beal shot 16-of-25 from the field, 4-of-10 from beyond the arc and a perfect 10-of-10 from the free-throw line against the Hornets. It wasn't enough, though, as the Wizards lost to Charlotte by a final score of 123-110.

Washington has now lost eight of its last 11 games and is 24-35 on the season, 11th place in the Eastern Conference standings. This wasn't a good way for the team to start the second half of the season. With All-Star point guard John Wall out for the season, opposing teams are going to be content with letting Beal go off and daring the other players on the Wizards to beat them.

Beal told reporters at All-Star weekend he was trying to recruit other star players to the nation's capital. Wall could miss the entire 2019-20 season after tearing his Achilles tendon, so Beal is looking for a new sidekick. The sharpshooter entered Friday averaging 25.1 points and that average will go up after his 46 points versus the Hornets.
