Washington Wizards starting center Marcin Gortat opted to spend his offseason back in his home country of Poland, and boy was he in for a treat.
Earlier this week, the city of Warsaw hosted a party celebrating the birthday of Queen Elizabeth II. Only a handful of invites were handed out for the special event, and Gortat was one of the lucky Poles to receive a golden ticket into the royal bash.
Things only got better for the seven-footer, as Gortat immediately tweeted about his brief encounter with none other than Prince William:

Despite looking oh-so dapper in his suit, that image of the mohawked, fully-bearded Gortat conversing with the Duke of Cambridge is just asking for some witty captions.
Prince William: “Oh sorry lad, I haven't heard of your band System of A Down before.”
Marcin: “Your majesty, your receding hairline looks impeccable from where I'm standing!”
Prince William: “Basketball? In England, all we care about is football, and not the football that those Americans speak fond of.”
Obviously, Gortat isn't the only one getting a kick out of his once-in-a-lifetime experience.
