The Washington Wizards are in a complete freefall and the once promising team looks lost. Austin Rivers is in his first year with the team and it's not going as planned. Many attribute the Wizards woes to their defensive lapses, but Rivers is hinting that it could be deeper than that.

“Yeah, it could be more than that,” Austin Rivers told Royce Young of ESPN. “I don't want to speak on it too much. But, you know.”

It's clear that something needs to change in Washington. Unless there is a drastic turnaround immediately, expect to see some major changes in the Washington organization. Scott Brooks is definitely on the hot seat due to his team's complete lack of effort on some nights.

That being said, the players on the court aren't doing much to inspire hope in the fanbase. At this point, every player on the roster should be on the trading block.

Dwight Howard's return to the court should alleviate some of the Wizards issues on defense and in the frontcourt, but Howard is not going to save this team. As Rivers alludes to, the issues on this Washington team go far deeper than their lack of defense. The corps group in Washington has underachieved for years and it's all coming to a breaking point.

If the Wizards fall to the youthful Knicks on Sunday, changes could be coming sooner rather than later.
