Washington Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal made a big mistake by engaging in a fight with Draymond Green that got him ejected in their big game against the Golden State Warriors. The Wizards eventually gave up their big lead and lost without Beal in the second half.

To Beal's credit, he apologized to his teammates, not once but twice, for his error in judgment in getting involved in a fight, which likely cost his team a huge win.

“Soon as it happened at halftime I apologized and I apologized again after the game. That's unacceptable by me, for sure. I've got to show better leadership and better control.”

While Green's importance to the Warriors on both ends of the court is well-known, Beal's loss from the Wizards was potentially more damaging. Unlike the Warriors, the Wizards don't have the depth in talent to call upon, and losing arguably their second-best player in Beal was huge.

With the Wizards' lack of depth, Beal's absence meant more minutes for Mike Scott and Jodie Meeks, which was a significant drop-off that they ultimately couldn't recover from.

What's done is done, though. Beal can't do much more than to apologize and try not to make the same mistake in the future.
