Not everyone would agree that Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal is an elite player. He's definitely good, but not many would include him as a top-10 or maybe even top-20 player in today's NBA.

For Boston Celtics stud Jayson Tatum, this is a travesty. In the mind of the C's forward, the Wizards shooting guard deserves much more credit than he is actually getting:

“I might be biased but I think Brad Beal is the most underrated player in the league,” Tatum said on a recent episode of All The Smoke with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, via Quinton Mayo of NBC Sports Washington.

“He averaged 31 this season and he didn't make the All-Star game,” Tatum continued. “Real basketball fans, they know how good he is.”

For the record, the Wizards star is averaging a career-best 30.5 points (on 45.5 percent shooting), 4.2 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 1.2 steals while also connecting on 3.0 triples per game on a 35.3 percent clip. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard was snubbed for the All-Star squad this year after making two consecutive appearances in 2018 and 2019. Ironically, Tatum himself was one of the players selected for the All-Star team ahead of Beal in the East.

Both Beal and Tatum trace their roots to St. Louis, Missouri, and they both went to Chaminade College Prep High School. They have been close friends for a long time now, which is why it comes to no surprise that Tatum is coming out to talk up his buddy here. Tatum does make a valid point about the Wizards guard, though, regardless of his self-proclaimed bias.
