The Washington Wizards were staring their first three-game losing streak of the season right in the face. But somehow, some way they pulled victory out of the jaws of defeat on Saturday night against the Miami Heat.

Bradley Beal was beyond proud of his squad after the game. He led the Wizards in scoring with 21 on the night, but was effusive in his praise of the teammates around him.

“It wasn't easy. We just stayed in the game. We know it's a game of runs. We know how tough of a team Miami is and they sent us a message last game.”

“It's awesome to be able to have teammates I can trust and be able to get the ball to,” the Wizards star continued. “For them to make plays, make shots and win us this game. It was definitely big free throws by Kuzma down the stretch, big shots by Spence and KCP, for sure.”

Beal struggled towards the end of the contest, failing to score in the fourth quarter and committing a costly pair of turnovers in the game's final five minutes. But luckily for Washington, Spencer Dinwiddie and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope came alive in the final frame. The tandem scored 20 of their 32 points and hit key shots to flip the script against Miami.

Wizards fans were on their feet for this one, much to the delight of Beal himself after the contest.

“We're getting our D.C. swagger back. The fans know. They feel the energy and we feed off the energy. … This team is special.”

With the victory, the Wizards remain in the East's upper echelon in the standings, leapfrogging the Heat and improving to a 11-5 record.
