As you can see, any list that involves Agent Zero is rarefied air in Wiz history, as the sweet-shooting guard was truly can’t-miss viewing during his heyday alongside Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler.

The top 10 list of players in Wizards history to score more than 40 points multiple times is littered with hall of famers including Gus Johnson, Earl Monroe, Elvin Hayes, Bernard King and Walt Bellamy – the latter of whom is the player that Beal tied for second all time on the list with 23 games of 40 or more points.

Notably, the player that many people believe to be the greatest of all time, Michael Jordan, was 7th on this list with eight games of scoring 40 or more points. Stunningly, the legend did that in only 2 seasons (2001-02 and 2002-03).

Coming into this season, Beal only had 12 such games of scoring 40 or more points, but because the Wiz offense has flourished this season behind some excellent shooting all over the court from various new additions (Davis Bertans, Mo Wagner, Rui Hachimura from midrange), Beal has piled up 11 such games out of the 57 he’s played.

In the 2019-20 season, Beal’s 11 games with 40 or more points also only trails James Harden (who has 19) in that category. Trae Young is third with 10 such games.
