Bradley Beal once again sounded off on the Russell Westbrook slander following the Washington Wizards' easy 121-100 win over the Detroit Pistons at Capital One Arena on Saturday. After his fellow All-Star recorded another triple-double performance, Beal made it clear that they stand behind Brodie regardless of what the doubters have to say (via Chris W. Crouse).

Russell Westbrook's fiery attitude does play like a double-edged sword for the Wizards. His passion on and off the court makes for thrilling moments, but it also often lands him in hot water when things go south. The Wizards, of course, have figured in a tough 2020-21 campaign, with Westbrook often getting the blame for their shortcomings. After all, the one-time NBA MVP usually pads the stat-sheet but it hasn't translated to more wins for Washington.

Against the Pistons, Westbrook put up 15 points, 14 rebounds, 11 assists, and two steals in 30 minutes of play, while draining seven of his 17 field goals. Beal, on the other hand, tallied a game-best 37 points on 13-for-22 shooting from the field and 4-of-6 from downtown.

Then again, the victory came against the lowly Pistons and the Wizards are still in 11th place in the East Standings with a 23-33 slate. However, it's worth noting that Washington has won its last four games. Brodie has a lot to do with that, notching a triple-dub in three of their last four wins.

Although the Wizards still have a lot of ground to cover to at least qualify for the playoff play-in tournament, Beal understands Westbrook will play a big role for that to happen. Love him or hate him, Russell Westbrook will always have Bradley Beal looking out for his back.
