Washington Wizards rookie Deni Avdija figured in a nasty spill on Wednesday in their game against the Golden State Warriors at Capital One Arena. With less than a minute left in the second period, Avdija landed awkwardly on his right leg after a strong drive to the paint.

The 20-year-old Israeli-Serbian swingman quickly clutched his leg in agony as teammates and the Wizards' medical staff rushed to his aid.

By the looks of it, it's not looking good. Avdija's Wizards teammate Jordan Bell even came over and draped his leg with a practice jersey to hide the extent of the damage from the cameras.

Deni Avdija couldn't put weight on his leg afterward and was carted off the playing court in a wheelchair. Now that's a terrible sight to see for Wizards fans.

Picked ninth overall by Washington in the 2020 NBA Draft, Advija is slowly finding his footing in the league over the last couple of games. He has become an important cog to the Wizards' recent five-game winning streak with his solid play on both ends at the wing position. He recorded six points, three boards, and one assist in 16 minutes before leaving the game due to that scary injury. Avdija was averaging 6.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.2 assists on 41.7 percent shooting from the field in 53 games played so far.

The injury bug has indeed ravaged some of the biggest names from last year's draft class, as ROY frontrunner LaMelo Ball also went down to a wrist injury last March. James Wiseman is also done for the season after undergoing meniscus surgery. Prayers up that Avdija's injury is not as bad as it seems.
