It is a goal for almost all players to earn a spot on an All-Star team each season. Washington Wizards guard Isaiah Thomas took to Twitter to get his early campaigning efforts started by asking for fans to vote for him for the All-Star team as a Christmas present.

The 2019-20 season has been a favorable bounce-back display from Thomas. He went from appearing in just 12 games for the Denver Nuggets last season with averages of 8.1 points with horrific shooting splits to having an effective season for the Wizards.

For reference, Thomas is currently averaging 13.6 points and 4.8 assists for the Wizards through 21 games this season. With John Wall sidelined while he continues to recover from a torn Achilles injury, Washington has benefited from the offensive impact that Thomas brings to the table.

It's worth noting that Thomas has made headlines more for an incident with a fan where he received an ejection and later a suspension for entering the stands for a confrontation. While the incident has been significantly overblown given Thomas' intent to simply talk to the fan, it has still been the only reason why he has been in the news cycle lately.

It's very unlikely that Thomas will be able to return to the All-Star caliber player he once was before his hip injury. However, it's encouraging to see him make by far his greatest on-court impact since being traded by the Boston Celtics.

The Wizards will take on the Detroit Pistons on Thursday, but Thomas will be sidelined for that matchup as a result of his two-game suspension.
