Point guard Isaiah Thomas is recruiting his close pal, veteran shooting guard Jamal Crawford, to the Washington Wizards.

Crawford, who is an unrestricted free agent, is currently in Tacoma, WA with Thomas at IT's ZekeEnd tournament. The two are very close friends off the court and Thomas wants Crawford to be his teammate on the Wizards.

Jamal Crawford played with the Phoenix Suns last season. The veteran scorer averaged 7.9 points, 1.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 64 games while shooting 39.7 percent from the field, 33.2 percent from beyond the arc and 84.5 percent from the free-throw line.

Crawford, 39, scored 51 points on April 9 against the Dallas Mavericks. The Wizards are likely going to be without All-Star point guard John Wall for the entire 2019-20 season as he recovers from an Achilles tear. Washington could benefit from adding a scorer like Crawford, who is still a walking bucket despite being 39-years-old.

The Wizards signed Isaiah Thomas to a one-year deal in free agency this summer. He will battle Ish Smith in training camp for Washington's starting point guard spot.

IT played with the Denver Nuggets last season, but fell out of the playing rotation and didn't play at all during the 2019 playoffs. The lefty averaged 8.1 points, 1.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 12 regular-season games while shooting 34.3 percent overall, 27.9 percent from the 3-point line and 63.0 percent from the charity stripe.
