Washington Wizards point guard Isaiah Thomas isn't happy that shooting guard Bradley Beal didn't make the All-Star team.

Thomas spoke to Wizards reporters about the subject after Washington defeated the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday:

Beal became just the fourth player in NBA history to record at least 2,000 points, 400 rebounds and 400 assists in a season and not earn All-NBA honors.

The bad luck for Beal has continued this season, as he’s set to become the first player since 1985 to average over 28.0 points per game and not make the All-Star team.

Coming into Thursday, Beal is averaging 28.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 6.3 assists. However, the Wizards are only 15-31 and outside of the playoff picture out East.

Last week, Beal said coaches and players should have a higher percentage of All-Star votes than the fans. The Wizards star finished second in the player vote.

Beal signed a two-year, $72 million contract extension with the Wizards before the season started and he is now guaranteed $130 million over four seasons. Beal’s new deal with the Wizards contains a player option for the 2022-2023 season. The sharpshooter would be eligible to sign a five-year, $266 million contract with Washington in the summer of 2022 if he declines that player option.

Beal averaged 25.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists last season with the Wizards while shooting 47.5 percent from the floor, 35.1 percent from the 3-point line and 80.8 percent from the charity stripe. He’s the best player in Washington since All-Star point guard John Wall is likely going to miss the entire 2019-20 campaign recovering from his Achilles tear.
