Much like all major sports leagues in the United States, the NBA is experiencing the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Washington Wizards, in particular, announced on Friday that six of its players tested positive for the coronavirus.
Despite their bad luck with the in-team outbreak, Wizards GM Tommy Sheppard already saw this coming:
The Wizards are arguably one of the most hit teams since the 2020-21 season started. They last played on Monday, Jan. 11, in a win over the Phoenix Suns.
Since then, two of their games have been postponed. Their upcoming back-to-back schedule against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday and Monday will now play on a later date.
Washington hasn't even had the chance to practice either. It's still unknown when Wizards will be able to see their team take the floor again.
Per the league's protocols, they would need to have at least eight active players in order play.
