According to multiple reports, and then by the team itself, Washington Wizards guard John Wall suffered a ruptured Achilles. He will be out for roughly 12 months before he's able to return to basketball activities.

Obviously, at the time of this writing, the details are rather scarce. The initial report burst through the mean streets of Twitter with the fury of 10 Nic Cage movies, leaving a path of sadness in its wake.

This entire situation is obviously unfortunate. While people may feel as though the Washington Wizards have failed to meet expectations season after season, it's forever sad whenever a play suffers this sort of injury.

As for John Wall, it will be hard for him to come back from this in terms relative to how he's always been one of the best athletes in the entire NBA. While medical science has improved, this isn't like jamming your thumb or something.

More details coming soon, stay tuned.
