Washington Wizards guard John Wall has not always got along the greatest with his teammates, but it appears he is excited to have Dwight Howard on board for the ride. In his first public comments to Candance Buckner of The Post Times:

“I think it’s great. I think it’s an opportunity to see how it pans out, have an athletic big and somebody who’s going to re-correct their career. I think it should be fun and exciting for us.”

The Wizards traded Marcin Gortat this offseason to the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for Austin Rivers, and that should make the chemistry instantly better in the locker room.

Gortat and Wall have had some beef that became public last season when Gortat sent out a tweet saying great “team” win while Wall was sitting out with an injury.

Wall fired back with a tweet making sure that everyone knew that he saw the tweet.

The two evidently had settled their beef for the betterment of the team, but it was decided this offseason trading Gortat was the best move.

It will be interesting to see how Dwight Howard fits in with the Wizards, because over the years he has also been known as being a locker room issue, but last year with the Charlotte Hornets on the court he was a good player.

He averaged 16.6 points and 12.5 rebounds while shooting over 55 percent from the field. If he can keep his head on straight, he should be a good addition to a Wizards team that is hoping to make some noise in a wide-open Eastern Conference.
