It has been almost two years since NBA fans last saw Washington Wizards star guard John Wall in action. This alone may have made some fans restless.

However, in a recent pick-up game organized by Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant, Wall was reportedly seen to be in tip-top shape and even showcased some improvements.

Per Chris Miller of NBC Sports Washington, Wall played some pick-up ball in The Academy (formerly the Mamba Academy) with teammates Troy Brown Jr. and Thomas Bryant, as well as Nets stars Durant and Kyrie Irving. In the report, Wall showed no signs of rust and even displayed a smoother stroke from deep.

A source in attendance tells NBC Sports Washington that Wall showed explosiveness, while showcasing a much improved 3-point shot.

This is definitely a welcome development for the Wizards and their legion of fans. To recall, Wall suffered a left heel injury in December 2019. After going thru the needle to repair the injury, it developed an infection. After which, suffered a ruptured left Achilles tendon at home.

The Wizards were actually one of the 22 teams invited to the NBA bubble. Instead of joining his squad, Wall reportedly decided to continue with his rehabilitation in Miami. He has also played some pickup games with Cleveland Cavaliers center Andre Drummond and top prospect James Wiseman.

“I feel young to be honest,” Wall said in the summer, per the NBC report. “I hooped today and I told [McLean] I didn’t even feel like I played today. You know, that’s the most important thing to me just locking in to have my body prepared for a whole season no matter how many minutes I play.”

The NBA hasn't announced the timeline of the 2020-21 season, but when they do, it will mark the return of John Wall.
