Houston Rockets guard John Wall got the best of his former squad, the Washington Wizards, on Tuesday night. The 5-time All-Star is all smiles so far with the Rockets, especially in the aftermath of the trade that sent former franchise star James Harden to the Brooklyn Nets.
Following his first game against the Wizards, Wall shared that the Rockets likes to hang out and bond with each other on a daily basis, something he said he wasn't able to with his previous team.
Via Kelly Iko of The Athletic:
Wall on the Rockets’ team chemistry: We like to hang together, we like to kick it. We enjoy being around each other everyday. It’s something I didn’t get a chance to do with some of my old teammates.

If this wasn't an obvious shot at the Wizards, perhaps these words from the 30-year old could confirm that he indeed still has resentment toward his former team.
John Wall on if he’s spoken with Wizards head coach Scott Brooks:
“Guys have my number, I have those guys numbers. If they wanted to talk to or reach out to me, they had the opportunity to. It’s almost two months since that’s happened. It is what it is.” pic.twitter.com/ClKeKNIOzn

The former All-NBA guard has repeatedly expressed his love for the city of Washington and its fans. However, Wall hasn't been particularly exuding the same kind of energy towards the organization that selected him 1st overall in the 2010 NBA draft.
The ex-Kentucky Wildcat helped his new team to a 107-88 win at home over the Wizards. He tallied 24 points on 9-of-21 shooting to go along with five assists, all in 24 minutes of action. Many believed Wall's days as a star in the NBA are over, but so far through the early goings of the 2020-21 season he is proving his naysayers wrong by still showing the same explosiveness and speed he had prior to his two injury-riddled campaigns.
The Rockets are no longer legitimate title threats, especially with James Harden no longer in town. Nevertheless, it seems like Houston is just happy to be playing basketball without any distractions again. As for Wall, here's to hoping he can put together a healthy campaign this season while he enjoys hanging out with his new teammates.
