Jordan Bell has been claimed by the Washington Wizards' G League team after signing a contract on March 9, per Fred Katz of The Athletic.

Bell began this season with the Minnesota Timberwolves after beginning his NBA career with the Golden State Warriors. He played 27 games with the Wolves before getting traded to the Houston Rockets — who then traded him to the Memphis Grizzlies.

The 25-year-old lasted just two games with Memphis before the franchise waived him. Bell averaged 3.2 points and 2.8 rebounds this season while shooting 52.2 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from beyond the arc and 61.3 percent from the free-throw line.

This year's Wizards are likely going to miss the playoffs for the second straight season. All-Star point guard John Wall is missing the entire season rehabbing his Achilles tear. Star shooting guard Bradley Beal is playing like an All-NBA player again, but he just doesn't have enough help on a nightly basis.

The Wizards are 23-40 on the season and are in ninth place in the Eastern Conference standings.

As for Bell, he is getting a second chance to prove that he is worthy to be in the NBA. After choosing the Timberwolves in free agency in hopes of finding a bigger role, he struggled mightily and eventually found himself out of the rotation at times.

Jordan Bell spent two seasons with the Warriors, serving as a backup or third-string center. While he played in limited minutes, he did start 13 games for the team in 2017-18, helping the Warriors eventually win the Larry O'Brien Trophy in the same season over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
