The Washington Wizards just committed the worst choke job in NBA history against the Los Angeles Clippers. There is no other candidate that comes close.

The Wizards blew a 35-point lead, the second largest in the history of the league but including every possible add-on to make the defeat that much worse.

Kyle Kuzma didn't hold back during the postgame presser, calling for change as the Wizards continue to flounder aimlessly after an impressive start to the season

Via Chase Hughes:

“Something’s gotta change,” asserted the Wizards forward. “It’s pretty comical at this point.”

Kuz pointed out the fact that the team's roles and true hierarchy have not yet been hashed out despite the fact that we're well past the midway point of the season already.

“You would think as a collective group we would have our roles figured out, but we don't,” Kuzma continued.

“At the end of the day, it's not good. It's like one of those situations where you've just gotta laugh. There's nothing else to… there's no good times.”

Washington led 66-36 at halftime. They sputtered in the third quarter and gave up 40 points to the Clippers but still took a 17-point lead into the fourth.

They inexplicably squandered that, but still held onto an eight-point lead with 36.8 seconds left followed by a six-point lead with just 11.2 (!!!) seconds left in the game.

Even the worst case scenario, a Clippers three followed by an unlikely turnover and another three, would only mean overtime. But somehow, the Wizards managed to make what seemed unfathomable even worse than what already seemed like a totally unrealistic way to lose the game.

Luke Kennard scoring seven points in nine seconds and hitting a four-point play to win the game did not seem within the realm of possibility.

While the loss truly stings for Kyle Kuzma and the rest of the team, it still just counts as one additional L in the standings. The Wizards need to take this as a wake up call. Something has to change soon else the season will be lost for good.
