Washington Wizards center Marcin Gortat didn't mince words when speaking about the state of his team, going 2-5 over the last seven games after starting the season 3-0.

“Sorry for my language, but we are in a s***hole,” Gortat said, according to Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington “We've gotta get out of that hole and start to win some games. We've gotta show up, show up at the game as NBA players who want to compete and play hard every possession. Take pride in what we do. That's the most important thing.”

The Wizards now have a chance to right their wrongs facing the Los Angeles Lakers for a second time after suffering their first loss of the season against them in a day point guard John Wall had marked on his calendar.

Fans were expecting great things from this team as they managed to keep their starting lineup intact and took care of impending extensions, making this an important go-around in the search for the Eastern Conference crown.

Washington owe three of their five losses to subpar Western Conference teams, losing to the Lakers, the Phoenix Suns, and most recently to the Dallas Mavericks.

“This is super disrespectful. Bottom-line, I feel embarrassed for those games,” Gortat said. “We definitely owe a huge apology to our fans for our performance. That's not who we are and that's not who we want to be in the future.”

Gortat has always been accessible from social media, but has opted to stay away until the Wizards can right the ship in the upcoming games.

“I have basically stopped checking social media for the past two weeks,” he said. “The way we play right now, you don't want to listen to dumbasses in social media.”
