While the Washington Wizards have had their share of struggles the past couple of seasons, veteran forward Markieff Morris' confidence is still at an all-time high. The 29-year-old stretch forward claims that the Wizards have actually better than the Boston Celtics in recent years, despite the fact that the respective teams' records say otherwise.

Morris had this to say about his twin brother's team (h/t Pro Basketball Talk):

“Boston has never been better than us. The record shows, but internally, we don’t think they were better than us last year. But we’ve just got to play up to our ability, and we’re better than anybody in the East.”

If you need more confidence to believe in yourself, you should definitely ask Morris' chef about what he eats for breakfast. The Celtics have reached the Eastern Conference Finals the last two years and are the favorite in the East this upcoming season, so what he says isn't really true until the Wizards come out on top of the East and beat the Celtics in a playoff series.

While the Celtics look like a juggernaut in 2018-19, the Wizards have gotten stronger in terms of their frontcourt depth, one of their main weaknesses last season. They signed Dwight Howard and Jeff Green in free agency, and the emergence of Otto Porter plus a more improved game from Morris should bode well for the campaign of this Scott Brooks-led team.
