Washington Wizards big man Montrezl Harrell is absolutely thriving with his new team, who are off to a terrific 10-3 start. Amid his early Sixth Man of the Year form, fans have been hitting Harrell with MVP chants when he's at the free-throw line.

Following their win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday, the former Laker spoke out on that support from the Wizards faithful and sent them a rather hilarious message:

Hey, Harrell has a point. It would be nerve-racking when you're stepping up to the charity stripe and you hear the fans yelling “MVP, MVP!” He just wants the chance to sink that first free-throw before being showered with praise.

In all seriousness though, it's unlikely the Wizards center wins Most Valuable Player. But, another Sixth Man award is certainly possible considering the way Harrell is playing. The 27-year-old is posting averages of 18 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists while logging 28.5 minutes per contest.

He's been vocal on just needing the opportunity to prove himself, something that didn't exactly happen last season with the Lakers before his rocky exit. At this point, the Wizards are the ones getting the last laugh in that blockbuster trade that sent Russell Westbrook back home and brought Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Kyle Kuzma, and Harrell to DC.

Wes Unseld Jr's squad is looking like the real deal early on, with all three of the ex-LA players proving to be important in their success and Harrell in particular. Keep up the support though Wizards fans, you know Trezz definitely loves every single minute of it.
