It's past time for the Washington Wizards to hit the panic button on this season, and Otto Porter suffered a toe contusion that is the latest blow to the team. According to Candace Buckner of the Washington Post, Porter didn't practice on Saturday and he may not play against the Knicks on Sunday night.

Porter has been one of the most consistent players for Scott Brooks in recent years, but he's off to a slow start this season. Porter is a career 40 percent shooter from three-point range, but he's only converting on 28 percent of his attempts this season. His drop in production has made matters worse for the Wizards, but their biggest problems are coming on the defensive end.

Washington has lost their last five games and four of those losses were by double digits. They are allowing their opponents to score at will and they're giving up a ridiculous 123.9 points per game. Dwight Howard's return to the lineup could help mitigate some of their defensive flaws, but a complete turnaround appears unlikely.

The Wizards are probably one or two more losses away from seeing some major changes in the organization. Whether that's a big trade or a firing is unclear, but it feels like things are building towards that. Otto Porter is likely safe from a trade due to his hefty contract, but it wouldn't be surprising to see anyone on the move at this point.
