The Chicago Bulls may be one of the worst teams in the league this season, but they have been able to build an interesting young core, which consists high-flyer Zach LaVine, sharpshooter Lauri Markkanen, and all-around big Otto Porter Jr.

It is unclear what direction the Bulls will take heading into the offseason, but for Porter, the future looks great for Chicago and its fans.

Porter told The Athletic's Michael Lee that he's excited for the team's future, and he believes they have the potential to become one of the best teams in the East.

“The future is bright for us. The future is very bright with the way the guys are, everybody wants to get better. Everybody is buying into what this organization is trying to do and that’s get back to the top. And get back in the playoffs and get back to being a contender every year. Since we’re such a young group, we’re going to continue to grow and grow together and eventually, we’re going to be there. I feel like it’s a process that we’re going to have to go through.”

Porter, who was traded by the Washington Wizards to the Bulls last month, is still in search of a team that will give him the opportunity show what he can do on the court. He has shown flashes of becoming a two-way player back in DC, but injuries and issues with management eventually ended his stint there.

Now he's with a team that has a lot of promise, but also raises a ton of question marks. But with proper development and a clear sense of direction, Porter's belief could turn into reality in the foreseeable future.
