Chicago Bulls small forward Otto Porter says members of the Washington Wizards front office told him privately he wouldn't be traded before the Feb. 7 deadline.

Wizards owner Ted Leonsis said a week before the deadline that John Wall, Bradley Beal and Otto Porter would not get traded this season. However, Washington traded Porter to the Bulls for Jabari Parker and Bobby Portis.

The Wizards and Bulls face off on Saturday in Chicago.

Porter got his first taste of the business side of the NBA on this one. As we have seen before, just because a franchise tells a player he isn't getting traded, it doesn't mean the front office won't go against their word and move that player.

Porter made his Bulls debut on Friday against the Brooklyn Nets and played very well. The swingman scored 18 points while shooting 7-of-9 from the field and 4-of-5 from beyond the arc in 33 minutes. Chicago defeated the Nets by a final score of 125-106.

It's going to be an emotional game on Saturday at the United Center. Porter is playing against guys he has been with for the past six years. Parker and Portis are back in Chicago just days after being traded. It should be a good one in The Windy City.
