Russell Westbrook has put up phenomenal numbers over the past few months. He and backcourt mate Bradley Beal have led the way to put the Washington Wizards into a play-in tournament position as the regular season winds down.

As many fans have been impressed with Westbrook’s historic performances, NBA legends have also paid their respects to what the all-around guard has been doing.

Former NBA champion Paul Pierce took to Twitter after Westbrook’s crazy triple-double in their impressive win over the Indiana Pacers on Monday. Pierce even proclaimed that Brodie is the best athlete in NBA history.

Although Pierce's statement is largely debatable, Westbrook has always been an athletic force throughout his career. The former MVP has remained in comparison with Derrick Rose and Allen Iverson as the most athletic point guards to ever play in the NBA.

Westbrook is on pace to have another triple-double average in a season. He's averaging 21.9 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 11.0 assists prior to their game against the Pacers. The Wizards started the season with an abysmal 3-12 record. But since the All-Star break, with Westbrook finding his stride, they have gone 16-15 and currently hold the 10th spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Wizards will try to keep their momentum rolling in their next game against the Milwaukee Bucks. The matchup will be a great challenge with Giannis Antetokounmpo and company looking to firm up their spot to get homecourt advantage in the NBA Playoffs. After facing the Bucks, the Wizards will have six more games to finish their regular season schedule. And for sure, Russell Westbrook will show up.
