While addressing reporters on Saturday for the first time since it was revealed that John Wall will likely miss the rest of the season, Washington Wizards head coach Scott Brooks said Wall has been dealing with a heel injury for years.

John Wall has bone spurs in his left foot. Doctors recommended to the five-time All-Star on Saturday that he undergo surgery now so he can be 100 percent next season.

Wall's bone spurs started to get really bad on Dec. 8. The Wizards' floor general tried to play through the pain, but he couldn't do it anymore and his camp decided that surgery was the best route to take.

In 32 games this season for Washington, John Wall averaged 20.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 8.7 assists per game while shooting 44.4 percent from the field, 30.2 percent from the 3-point line, and 69.7 percent from the free-throw line.
