Given his team's struggles at the beginning of the 2019-20 NBA regular season, Washington Wizards Scott Brooks has made several game-time decisions about when to keep pushing his guys and when it's time to pull the plug and live to fight another day.

He made another judgement call on Wednesday night as they were down big against the Detroit Pistons at Little Caesars Arena, opting to sit out superstar Bradley Beal with still some time to spare.

Asked why he opted to pull Beal out of the game, the one-time NBA Coach of the Year winner bared that it was more of a precautionary measure, as Beal has been experiencing some discomfort throughout the match, per Candace Buckner.

“Right lower leg soreness. We’ll see how he feels tomorrow and evaluate it. He wanted to keep playing but the bottom line is we were down a big number, so it’s wise to let him sit out the rest of the game.”

The Pistons went on to thrash the Wizards by a 30-point margin, 132-102, as eight players finished in double-figures led by Christian Woods' 22 markers.

Beal, meanwhile, played in 24 minutes before leaving the match, tallying 15 points, two rebounds, and two assists. Without his fellow All-Star John Wall, Beal has completely assumed the reins on offense for coach Brooks, tallying spectacular numbers of 28.3 points, 4.9 boards, 6.8 assists, and 1.1 steals while shooting 43.8 percent from the field and 32.4 from three.

But his stellar numbers hasn't translated to success for Washington, accumulating a putrid 9-21 record after dropping eight of their last 10 games.
