Washington Wizards head coach Scott Brooks has hinted at Bradley Beal's possible return against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday.

Brooks noted, however, that the Wizards are not in a rush having Beal back, not after Garrison Mathews scored 28 points to power them to a 123-105 victory over the Miami Heat on Monday.

Bradley Beal has sat out in the last two games because of right lower leg soreness. He sustained the injury in Thursday's loss to the Detroit Pistons. He subsequently missed the game against the New York Knicks, which was the first contest he has missed since  April 12, 2017 . It snapped his consecutive games streak at 194, the fifth-longest active streak in the NBA.

Ahead of the said game, Brooks shared that Beal was itching to play.

“He’s as durable as anybody in the league. He’s played just about every game the last 3 1/years and good minutes,” Brooks said before the game, per Candace Buckner of the Washington Post. “He wants to play. He wants to practice. That’s great. That’s who he is. I’m sure this is going to bother him, not being on the court with the guys knowing how banged up we are.”

Amid a tough year for the Wizards, Beal remains productive. He's averaging 25.8 points per game (fifth in the league), 4.8 rebounds and 6.7 assists. He is also shooting 43.6 percent from the field, 31.7 percent from deep and 82.8 percent from the charity stripe.

On top of holding down the fort until John Wall returns, Beal's task includes guiding the Wizards young guns and new additions such as Rui Hachimura, Troy Brown, Davis Bertans and Thomas Bryant among others. As such, expect Beal to continue leading his team even when he's on the bench recovering from his injury.
