Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James infamously expressed his disdain for the play-in tournament not long ago, and Washington Wizards Scott Brooks says he agrees with The King now that his Wizards have secured the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Like LeBron, Brooks wants somebody fired:

Of course, Brooks actually doesn't think this, as he was just in a joking mood after Washington beat out the Charlotte Hornets for that 8-seed on Sunday. The Wizards had to go on a huge 17-6 run to end the season to get in the play-in picture, and they wound up jumping all the way up to that 7/8 game thanks to the Hornets and Indiana Pacers struggling to finish out the season.

Washington will now face the Boston Celtics in that 7/8 play-in game on Tuesday. The winner will get the No. 7 seed in the playoffs, while the loser will face the winner of Hornets-Pacers.

Bradley Beal returned for the Wizards on Sunday from a hamstring injury. While he was clearly laboring, the obvious hope is he'll be good to go against fellow St. Louis native Jayson Tatum on Tuesday.

The Wizards-Celtics matchup is going to be an interesting one given these teams have been trending in different directions of late. While Washington went on a big surge to end the season, Boston has been limping toward the finish line, especially with Jaylen Brown now being done for the season after wrist surgery.

Meanwhile, LeBron James' Lakers could wind up in the play-in tournament themselves.
