Washington Wizards center Dwight Howard isn't having a good week. Besides a highly controversial off-court allegation, the eight-time NBA All-Star is also dealing with a butt injury and hasn't made any significant progress with his recovery.

Dwight Howard is out with gluteal soreness and according to Wizards head coach Scott Brooks, the 32-year-old big man continues to be bothered by the injury.

“We’ll know more information in the next couple of days…[the injury] hasn’t gotten much better in the last couple of days,” Brooks told Fred Katz of The Athletic.

Scott Brooks also told Katz that Thomas Bryant would remain in the starting lineup for the time being. Howard's injury is just the latest obstacle to befall the Wizards.

After a rocky 2-9 start to the season, the Wizards appear to be shopping around anyone and everyone on the roster. Washington has won five of their last eight games, but the general feeling around the organization remains gloomy.

Their recent winning hasn't seemed to change the perception that they are looking to make a trade. Bradley Beal is perhaps the most likely Wizard to be dealt due to his high value and reasonable contract. Beal played 45 and 50 minutes in the Wizards last two games. It almost looks like the Wizards are willing to run him into the ground because they know he won't be in Washington for long.

There is something rotten in Washington and Dwight Howard's nagging injury is part of a myriad of problems bedeviling Scott Brooks' squad.
