The Washington Wizards have been eliminated from the playoffs, but star shooting guard Bradley Beal wants to continue to play.

Wizards head coach Scott Brooks says he respects Beal for wanting to still play.

“I think it’s pretty admirable that he wants to keep playing, and we know we’re out of the playoffs,” Brooks said, via Candace Buckner of the Washington Post. “I respect it. I don’t criticize people who are not playing with load management but, you know, I like guys that want to compete.”

Bradley Beal is looking to play in all 82 games for the second consecutive season. It would be a great accomplishment for a player who dealt with injuries during the first couple years of his NBA career.

In 77 games this season for the Wizards, Beal is averaging 26.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.5 assists. The two-time All-Star is shooting 47.7 percent from the field, 35.3 percent from beyond the arc and 80.6 percent from the free-throw line.

Beal has been a workhorse all season. He leads the league in minutes per game at 37.6. The sharpshooter has recorded 11 double-doubles, two-triple doubles and scored at least 40 points five times.

The Wizards' best player has established himself as one of the top shooting guards in the NBA.
