The Washington Wizards are looking for a point guard in the free agency market. Their eyes seem to be set on Quinn Cook of the Golden State Warriors and Cory Joseph of the Indiana Pacers.
Per Chase Hughes of NBCS, the Wizards are hoping to re-sign Tomáš Satoranský — who played 80 games (54) starts with them last year. But they're also eyeing a new player to fill in the point guard spot.

This news is seen as an effort by the Wizards to remain well-grounded in the point guard spot. Since last January, they lost star guard John Wall to an Achilles injury. He was subsequently ruled out for the 12 months. In 32 games last year, Wall put up 20.7 points per night, 8.7 assists, 1.5 steals across 34.5 minutes per game. The Wizards missed the playoffs last year for just the second time in six seasons.
Quinn Cook served as Stephen Curry's backup in the Golden State Warriors for the past two years. The 2017-2018 season (where they won a title) was his best season yet as he averaged 9.5 points per game and 2.7 assists.
Joseph, meanwhile, has built a career as a reliable point guard for playoff teams. He won a championship with the San Antonio Spurs in 2014. Afterward, he helped the Toronto Raptors and the Indiana Pacers make the playoffs from 2016 to 2018.
This interest for a point guard comes in after the Wizards re-signed 6-foot-11 center Thomas Bryant to a three-year deal worth $25 million. The 21-year-old had a breakout year last season as he logged in 10.5 points per game, 6.3 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks across 20.8 minutes. While some may see him as a backup center, the Wizards are eyeing him to do great things in the future.
