The Washington Wizards appear to be looking for more depth at the guard decision. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Wizards are planning to sign veteran point guard Ramon Sessions to a 10-day contract with the team.

“Wizards are planning to sign guard Ramon Sessions to a 10-day contract, league source tells ESPN,” Wojnarowski said earlier today.

After Wojnarowski tweeted about Sessions, Wizards beat writer Candace Buckner responded on Twitter to confirm the earlier speculation.

“Can confirm,” Buckner said. “Sessions has been staying in shape while working out in his home in Atlanta. Very familiar with the team and several players.”

Bucker also said on Twitter that Sessions won't be available doe Thursday night's matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers but will be active for Washington's game against the Charlotte Hornets.

Sessions, a 31-year-old point guard who was selected No. 56 overall by the Milwaukee Bucks back in the 2007 NBA Draft, has bounced around from a handful of teams throughout his career. In the middle of January, he was waived by the New York Knicks after he only played in 13 games this season for them.

Wizards star point guard John Wall, who underwent successful surgery on his left knee late last month, is still a few weeks away from returning to head coach Scott Brook's lineup. Adding Sessions as insurance for at least the next 10 days seems like a smart move as Washington continues to make a playoff push.

This would be Sessions' second stint with the Wizards. In 110 games from 2014-16 with Washington, Sessions averaged 9.2 points, 3.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game in roughly 20.1 minutes of action per contest.
