Next season will be the first one for the NBA’s partnership with Nike as their new official jersey providers, after signing both parties agreed last year on a deal for eight seasons. Some teams have already unveiled the designs their players will be wearing starting in October, and now the Washington Wizards have followed suit.

The team took to their Twitter account to show their fans the Icon and Association designs, which are expected to be their home and away jerseys. There are only some slight changes made to their old ones, which includes the addition of Nike’s swoosh, and a bigger D.C. logo on the shorts.

There will be two more designs that will be revealed in the coming months, with one inspired by a community in the nation’s capital, while the other from an athlete’s mindset. The NBA has given home teams the liberty to choose which alternate home jerseys to wear, and the visitors will be tasked to contrast it appropriately.

Since the big changes they made to their jersey’s color scheme in 2011, the Wizards have mainly stuck with the red, white and blue they currently have in their uniforms. It has ushered in a new brand of basketball, especially with the arrival of John Wall, who is their franchise player. It also gave them a new look, which helped erase the bitter past they had, stemming from the locker room gun controversy involving Gilbert Arenas.
