Washington Wizards owner Ted Leonsis seems to be in approval of the offseason moves made by his team president, Ernie Grunfeld. In fact, Leonsis gave Grunfeld an “A” grade for his work this summmer.

Leonsis made his praise of Grunfeld public in a recent interview with Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington.

Leonsis, in fact, said he would give team president Ernie Grunfeld and his team an A-grade for their summer so far.

“I thought what Ernie did this offseason is exactly what we had planned,” Leonsis said. “I think when a season ends you sit down and see what you want to accomplish. For the Wizards, it was we need to have more balance and more depth and be more prepared for injuries.”

Whether it was by trade, free agency, or draft, the Wizards acquired several new faces this offseason, including Dwight Howard, Jeff Green, Austin Rivers, and Troy Brown Jr.

The Wizards selected Brown with their 15th overall pick in this year's draft. Howard came to Washington on a mid-level exception, while Green signed for the veteran's minimum. Rivers joined the squad as part of the Marcin Gortat trade.

The Wizards finished last regular season with a record of 43–39, which resulted in a No.8 seed in the East. However, Washington was knocked off in the first round by the Toronto Raptors in six games.

Whether or not these acquisitions will push the Wizards over the proverbial hump next season remains to be seen, but it sounds like the front office likes their chances.
