The Washington Wizards are heading for a breaking point, and John Wall or Bradley Beal could be on the move if things don't turn around quickly. Scott Brooks is searching for a way to turn this team around after a dreadful 2-8 start to the season. Of course, the Eastern Conference is still the weaker conference, so a turnaround and a playoff appearance is still very much a possibility.

That being said, if the Wizards continue to falter, the team will have to make a move to change the course of the franchise. A coaching change is always a possibility, but a trade involving Wall or Beal feels just as likely. While a trade involving Wall could be more difficult to get done because of contractual complexities, it may be the best way for the franchise to reset. Zach Lowe of ESPN writes:

Trading Wall might be Washington's only get-out-of-jail card. Trading Beal would hurt the team. Porter wouldn't bring enough return to make a difference.

Beal is younger than Wall with a better contract situation, but Wall is a bona fide All-Star and a dynamic point guard who can excel under the right circumstances. There's still a good chance that the Wizards could deal Wall while bringing back players and assets to help the franchise re-tool for the future.

Washington isn't blowing this thing up yet, but the possibility of a major change grows with every loss. Parting ways with Wall makes more sense for a change in direction for the franchise
