Washington has been playing some great basketball. They're currently tied for third place in the Eastern Conference with the Milwaukee Bucks and the Miami Heat.
Gafford and his paint presence have been a big reason why the Wizards have found success this season. Washington is an extremely well put together team. They get contributions from almost every guy on their roster night in and night out. Gafford on the season is averaging 8.8 points per game, 5.7 assists, and has the 29th highest PER in all of basketball.
If Washington wants to make the playoffs once again, they're going to need guys to step up every night just like they have been all season. They have a very exciting team filled with guys who can almost do everything. They also have an elite scorer in Bradley Beal.
Their trade with the Los Angeles Lakers looks like it has panned out much better for Washington than it did for Los Angeles. Russell Westbrook is an incredible talent, but they were able to get back Kyle kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and Montrezl Harrell. All three of these guys have played important minutes for this Washington team. They have been a major reason for their success.
