Bradley Beal and trade rumors have gone together like the perfect pair for years now. While the Washington Wizards guard has never played for any other team outside of the one that drafted him, it hasn't stopped trade rumors from constantly hovering.

Now, with Beal's own feelings relatively uncertain regarding his long term plans with the Wizards, more speculation has opened up. However, via NBC Sports Washington, the Wizards and their star guard are staying in touch and talking with one another.

Now, Beal has given the Wizards no signs he is unhappy, at least not yet, according to a source with the team. He has, according to the source, remained in contact with the front office as recently as this weekend and nothing of the sort has come up, a source with the team told NBC Sports Washington.

But questions have arisen following a story by Bleacher Report released on Saturday that Beal feels uncertain about the Wizards' future in part because of trade rumors mentioning Russell Westbrook, and is weighing his options. Thursday's draft has been cited as a mile marker, given the Wizards could theoretically trade Beal for 2021 picks.

None of this should come as a surprise after the Wizards did get to the playoffs this past year, but had a short stay and a first round exit. Beal has stayed loyal to Washington his entire career but as goes with a lot of stars, there comes a certain point where things get stale and the pursuit of chasing rings somewhere better takes priority. That could be the case for Beal although the Wizards and their fans are hoping it's not the case.
