There's a lot of people around the NBA who believe the Washington Wizards should trade All-Star shooting guard Bradley Beal this summer so the team can get a plethora of assets in return and embark on a full rebuild.

Because point guard John Wall's availability for the 2019-20 season is unknown, many pundits think the Wizards would benefit from trading Beal when his value is at its highest. Wall is recovering from heel and Achilles surgery and there's a chance the former No. 1 overall pick misses the entire 2019-20 season.

There's one NBA source, though, who isn't on board with trading Beal. This particular anonymous official believes the Wizards should keep Beal and build around him, per Ben Standig of NBC Sports Washington:

“Keep Beal as the vet who sets the culture, identity,” a league source familiar with the Wizards’ situation told NBC Sports Washington.

Beal is coming off his best season as a pro. The sharpshooter averaged 25.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists this season while shooting 47.5 percent from the field, 35.1 percent beyond the arc and 80.8 percent from the free-throw line.

Unarguably the Wizards' best player, Beal finished with 2,099 points, 411 rebounds and 448 assists, establishing himself as one of the top shooting guards in the NBA.

You don't just trade a talent like Beal unless you are sure you can get a sizable haul in return. In a wide-open Eastern Conference, the Wizards are just a few moves away from making the playoffs next season. Keeping Beal, who is only 25, would seem to be in the best interest of the Wizards.
