Several teams, including the Philadelphia 76ers, are keeping a close eye on the Washington Wizards’ role players for possible trades moving forward, according to Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated.

The Wizards have started the season 3-9 and once again look like a dysfunctional team. Some around the league believe if Washington continues to lose, that management will consider trading some of the role players such as Jeff Green, Kelly Oubre and Markieff Morris.

Entering Monday, the Wizards have the worst defense in the NBA. Washington is giving up 119.3 points per game. To make matter worse, John Wall and Bradley Beal have already called out some guys on the team for playing selfishly. The players don’t even look like they want to play with one another half the time. If a team makes one run against the Wizards, they fold instantly like a cheap tent.

Every summer, the players on the Wizards talk about how everyone is underestimating Washington and that the team is a serious contender in the East. Once the season starts, though, the team show exactly why no one takes them seriously year after year. It’s a tradition unlike any other.

The Sixers just acquired All-Star small forward Jimmy Butler from the Minnesota Timberwolves. In a wide-open race in the East, Philadelphia is trying to make it to the NBA Finals and adding Butler will help their cause.

A guy like Kelly Oubre would help the Sixers tremendously. Oubre can stretch the floor for Philadelphia and create more driving lanes for Ben Simmons and Jimmy Butler. It will be interesting to see if Sixers general manager Elton Brand makes any more moves in the near future.
