The Washington Wizards continue to resist trade inquiries on All-Star shooting guard Bradley Beal, according to Brian Windhorst of ESPN.

Beal, along with Cleveland Cavaliers power forward Kevin Love, are the two All-Stars everyone around the league think could be traded to a contender soon since the Wizards and Cavs aren't even playoff teams at the moment.

Washington, though, appears to want to build around Beal since point guard John Wall could miss the entire 2019-20 season recovering from heel and Achilles surgery:

A secondary market is now developing for players available via buyout and trade. With next summer's free-agent class less deep, front offices expect trades to take center stage over the next 12 months.

One name on everyone's lips in this regard is Bradley Beal as the Washington Wizards face a significant rebuild. But as of now, sources said, the Wizards are resisting such inquiries.

Beal had his best season as a pro in 2018-19. He averaged 25.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists while shooting 47.5 percent from the field, 35.1 percent beyond the arc and 80.8 percent from the free-throw line. Unfortunately, the Wizards missed the postseason.

There has been talk the Wizards could sign Beal to an extension this summer. Beal will make $27,093,019 next season and $28,751,775 in 2020-21.
