Bradley Beal took it upon himself to rebound from a franchise-worst loss to the Utah Jazz by dropping a career-high 51 points in a win against the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday.

The sharpshooter was clicking on all cylinders, connecting in 21-of-37 field goal attempts — a career-high for both makes and attempts — while hitting on 5-of-12 from deep and 4-of-5 from the stripe.

Beal had mustered only 11 points against the Jazz on Monday, an anemic effort against a team that was just getting its core back together, making this 40-point jump from night to night that is much more worthy of celebration.

The sureshot wing was met with some water from his teammates in the locker room after leading his Wizards to a 106-92 win through 43 minutes on the floor.

The Wizards are only 13-11 on the year and will need to make the most of this West Coast trip to gain a grip in their own Eastern Conference, sitting currently at the seventh spot of postseason contention.

“I've been thinking way too much,” Beal said after his career-high night, according to The Associated Press. “Tonight, I was just playing freely and having fun.”

Bradley Beal will need to continue this trend with running mate John Wall still sidelined for another week.
